VW Bug Ornament

Last year I was hoping to get one of the super-cute VW bug ornaments that Pier 1 was selling at Christmas time. Remember the cute commercial where the little bug jumped off the tree & raced around the living room?

Well, I went to Pier 1 in Woodbury right after Thanksgiving, and was dismayed to find they were already sold out.

You can read all about my disappointment here.

Well, you all know that since then I have bought my own real-life VW Beetle convertible in Gecko Green that I named Daisy.

Which brings me to the point of my story. I recently became acquainted with a lovely girl named Niki who has been on a very determined search to find one of these ornaments. She went to all of the trouble to create a MySpace account just so she could send me a message about the VW Beetle ornament.

To make a long story short, she had one but her cat broke it and now she is trying to track down another one for her friend and I am not telling the story nearly as well as she did. But I know she is on a desperate search for another one of these ornaments and I am trying to help her.

So my plea to you is: if you or anyone you know has one of these ornaments and would like to sell it to Niki (at a reasonable price), please email me at Lesli13 at Hellokitty dot com, and I will pass your message along to Niki.

She is so sweet and we are now Facebook friends (we are pretty much done with MySpace!). Hope you can help out a fellow VW Bug lover. She has a real-life VW Beetle too, by the way--she calls it Lucky Bug. How cute is that?

So please let me know if you have any leads on this hard-to-get-your-hands-on ornament!

I checked out VW ornaments on Ebay after I read this post and I saw a bunch of cute ones by Christopher Radko. If you girls did have the money to spend, one of these would be really cute! I used to work in a collectible store that sold these and they are really high quality. There is also mouth-blown silver lining them if I remember right. One of the White House trees was done in Radko ornaments recently! :) That is SO crazy that people were charging $95 for those!
